I understand that career transitions are not just about finding the next job – they’re about navigating uncertainty, rebuilding confidence, and aligning with personal and professional goals. My holistic approach combines practical career guidance with emotional support, ensuring employees feel empowered to take the next step in their journey. While many outplacement programmes focus solely on job placement, I believe in addressing the whole person.
I’m Rebecca Kirk – a Career Coach with a passion for helping employees navigate career transitions with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Over the past ten years, I’ve supported hundreds of individuals from a variety of industries through periods of uncertainty and change. My empathetic, holistic approach ensures that each person feels supported, valued and empowered as they move toward the next chapter in their career.
My dedication to career coaching stems from my own personal experience with career transitions. I know firsthand how challenging it can be to navigate a crossroads. Before becoming a coach, I had my own corporate career and, like many of the employees you may be supporting, I’ve faced the fear of change, the self-doubt, and the search for purpose. Those experiences are what drive me to create a safe, compassionate space for others to explore their options and take their next steps with confidence.
Through a combination of practical coaching tools and mindful, intuitive guidance, I help employees not only secure their next role but also reconnect with their strengths, values, and self-worth. My approach is tailored to the individual, ensuring that each person feels seen and heard during what can often be a vulnerable time.
For HR professionals, alongside being a coach, my aim is also to be a compassionate partner who helps you navigate the emotional and practical load of managing transition.
I help employees gain clarity about their strengths, values, and career aspirations, empowering them to identify meaningful next steps. This process reduces uncertainty and ensures they transition with confidence and purpose.
Redundancy can shake even the most capable individuals. I work one-on-one to rebuild their self-belief and resilience, ensuring they feel equipped to pursue new opportunities and thrive in their next role.
The emotional impact of career change is significant. I offer compassionate, empathetic support to help employees process their feelings, reduce stress, and approach their transition with a positive mindset.
I help employees create clear, actionable plans to navigate their career transitions with confidence. By setting achievable goals and outlining practical steps, I ensure they are fully supported in moving forward with purpose and direction.
I provide guidance to help employees craft compelling CVs and prepare for interviews with confidence. From showcasing their skills to practicing effective communication, I ensure they will stand out in today’s job market.
A good LinkedIn profile is essential for career progression. I work with employees to create a profile that highlights their skills, experience, and personal brand, helping them attract new opportunities and build valuable connections.
Career transitions are a time of immense change, both professionally and personally. My holistic approach ensures that employees are not only prepared for the next step in their careers but also equipped to navigate the emotional and psychological challenges that come with it.
By integrating career development tools, wellbeing focus, and one-on-one support, I help employees leave your organisation feeling valued, supported, and ready to succeed.
When organisations face difficult transitions, such as redundancies or restructuring, the way employees are supported during these moments reflects the organisation’s values. My Outplacement Services go beyond traditional career transition programmes, offering a holistic, human-centred approach that prioritises both professional outcomes and personal wellbeing.
Reduce the risk of disputes or grievances from departing employees
Protect your employee brand by demonstrating compassion and professionalism
When managing a group redundancy programme, the pressure on HR can be significant. I deliver a structured three‑step career transition process – workshop, personalised triage and targeted one‑to‑one support. This ensures every employee receives meaningful support, while identifying those who need deeper guidance. This approach brings clarity, fairness and care to the process, easing the burden on HR.
I will deliver a workshop to ensure all your affected staff receive some support and set the stage for deeper help.
I assess the individual needs of each employee and help you prioritise the best level of support for each person.
I then work 1-1 with your people in a range of different ways to meet their needs and your budget (see below).
Outplacement support is structured around my signature Forge Your Path career transition coaching framework – a grounded and empowering process that helps employees move forward with clarity, calm and confidence. Based on the principles of my book You’re Here for a Reason, this framework also draws on 10 years of coaching experience, plus personal experience in navigating career transitions.
The process focuses on 3 stages which are vital for a successful and sustainable career transition:
Acknowledging the practical and emotional impact of redundancy or job loss
Grounding with some new habits or practices which can bring calm and restore balance
Enabling a fresh perspective – seeing this as an opportunity to realign and move positively forward
Re-building confidence and belief in what is possible – moving through any resistance or limiting thought patterns
Reconnecting with who they are/what’s most important to them and what they want to do next
Clarifying what an aligned career path looks like and what could bring more fulfilment
Evaluating their skills and strengths and what is needed to re-enter the current job market
Exploring broad and specific career path options – including pivoting into something new
How to position themselves in the job market (inc. CV help, LinkedIn profile)
Who to reach out to – creating targeted lists of organisations and people
Exploring new and tried and tested ways to approach finding a new job
Setting goals and creating a plan to move into a new role
This workshop provides a grounded start point for your employees to begin their career transition journey. I hold the space for them to take stock of what this moment means alongside sharing practical tools and considered questions to enable them to gain clarity on how to move into their next role with greater calm and confidence.
One-to-one sessions provide the most objective, private and confidential space to support your employees. They are proven to increase clarity, motivation and belief through accountability.
There are 3 different levels of support I can offer your employees with 1-1 career transition coaching, all centred around my signature Forge Your Path framework.
These options are available both for individual employees and for larger numbers of employees as part of a wider outplacement package.
Foundations provides focused, short-term 1‑1 support for employees at the early stage of transition. Across three structured sessions, individuals are stabilised, supported to process change and guided toward practical next steps.
This level of intervention is well suited to those requiring immediate clarity and direction following redundancy or role change, ensuring they leave with a considered and constructive plan.
Alignment offers sustained support for employees navigating active career transition. Over six sessions, individuals are guided through deeper reflection, repositioning and practical implementation – including professional messaging, direction-setting and structured forward planning.
This programme supports employees to move beyond initial stabilisation and into purposeful action, increasing confidence and maintaining momentum during a period of uncertainty. It is particularly effective where the organisation wishes to provide more comprehensive transition support.
Integration provides extended coaching and mentoring for employees undertaking significant career shifts, including senior or long-tenured professionals. Across nine sessions, the focus moves from transition planning to securing and embedding into a new role or professional chapter.
In addition to strategic career guidance, individuals receive sustained support to strengthen confidence, leadership presence and resilience during change.
This level of partnership ensures the transition is not only navigated responsibly, but concluded with stability and forward momentum – reflecting positively on the organisation’s commitment to its people.
Outplacement services are services provided via an employer to an employee who is leaving their organisation. This is typically due to redundancy but also because of underperformance, misalignment and by mutual agreement. Outplacement services are intended to enable an outgoing employee to successfully navigate their career transition and have a better chance of securing a new role elsewhere. Outplacement services often include a practical element such as: coaching support to identify, plan and move into the best fit next role, CV and LinkedIn profile writing and interview practice. And also an emotional element such as: confidence building and dealing with the psychological impact of having to leave an employer and the circumstances surrounding it.
Outplacement services are usually initiated as part of a redundancy or settlement package and put in place by a HR Business Partner or a key decision maker within an organisation. They will make the initial contact with the provider to assess the right fit, after which an introductory meeting with the employee is set up to discuss specific needs. Once a contract is in place, the employee will either begin working with the outplacement provider whilst they are still with the organisation or once they have left and often until they are in their next role.
Here are my suggestions on how you can get started supporting your employees during a career transition such as redundancy:
Many organisations are realising the importance of demonstrating being a caring employer – both in terms of the positive impact on their existing employees and their ability to attract new talent. There is now greater emphasis (and even expectation) around the mental wellbeing of staff being part of an organisation’s values, benefits and culture. And so, supporting anyone leaving the business under challenging circumstances provides an opportunity to demonstrate this.
Yes, as well as working with local organisations in the Manchester and Cheshire areas, I offer remote outplacement coaching via webcam. This allows for greater flexibility around an employee’s schedule and a more efficient use of their time – which can then be spent taking the necessary steps towards their next role.
My outplacement services offer a holistic approach, combining emotional wellbeing with practical career coaching like CV writing, LinkedIn optimisation, and interview preparation. Unlike many of the more traditional services, I focus on building confidence, resilience, and alignment with an employee’s personal values to help them thrive in their next role. I believe that compassion and empathy also go a long way during this challenging time and can enable employees to enter into their next job search from a calmer and more grounded place and thus with much greater likelihood of success.
Outplacement services start from £950 per person, depending on what each employee needs. I am able to offer shorter packages of support in certain circumstances if you have a particular budget in mind. I am happy to discuss this in your initial consultation.
